Lesson 2: Media Studies

The Media Triangle

The Media Triangle is a form of graphic organizer that can be used to both ANALYSE media (deconstruct it to search for meaning) as well as to PRODUCE media (construct meaning using the tools learned from deconstruction). There are three sides or arms of the media triangle which contain the following prompts:

Media Text: What meaning is being conveyed?

Audience: To whom is the meaning being conveyed?

Production: How and why is the meaning being conveyed?

Activity: Using the Media Triangle
